VO Decaleur Kits
Decaleurs are traditional quick release mounts for handlebar bags. Unlike some modern bag mounts, they keep the bag low for better handling and to keep the handlebars clear. The VO fork mount decaleurs are mounted on the fork below the headset lock nut and fit 1" or 1-1/8" forks. They are made of stainless steel and the workmanship is first rate.
Our decaleurs work with VO, Acorn, Ostrich, Sologne, Berthoud, TA, LaFuma, and most other traditional-style handlebar bags.
Please remember that a decaleur is intended as a quick release mechanism, not to support the full weight of the bag. So the bag must still rest on a rack or on the fender. Fork mounted decaleurs can be bent slightly to adjust the bag's height, but might not work with very tall or short frames. For those frames we recommend a front rack with an intergrated decaleur.
Note, that these decaleurs use metric 5mm posts and receivers. The new bag mounts can be used in the old-style 1/4" receivers, but not the other way round.
